Well now, I don't think I've ever entered a contest that gave me so many awards all at once! This at FKA Autumn Circuit in Serbia. All of them are the same thing, Honorable Mentions, but seven, count 'em, seven of 'em! This among a total of fifteen acceptances in three salons and five categories, including the usual Open Color and Open Mono along with Portrait, Nature, and "Woman Man Child," apparently a catch-all category for... something. (These special categories are often poorly defined and even less well explained.)

Anyway, this brings me a whole passel of fancy digital certificates along with bragging rights and a lot of pretty pictures in the eventual salon catalog. I'll look forward to that. Here's a preview:

• "Bad Mother" (Open Monochrome PIDM), Leila Deschanel, Seattle, May 2014: two Honorable Mentions for a perennial favorite
• "Vantage" (Open Monochrome PIDM), Dominique Zuniga, Valley of Fire, March 2016: three acceptances and an Honorable Mention for an image that is rising rapidly up the list of my most successful images
• "Kimber" (Portrait PIDC), Kimber Collins, Puyallup, March 2012: Honorable Mention and a first-time acceptance for an image I've personally been partial to from the beginning
• "Vernal Light" (Woman Man Child PIDC), Marzipanned, Seattle, January 2019: Honorable Mention for a photo of someone who is either a woman, man, or child
• "Tristen Draped" (Woman Man Child PIDC), Tristen, Seattle, October 2011: Honorable Mention for an image a woman with child
• "Godiva in the evening" (Open Color PIDC), Courtney Appleseed AKA Stella Luceat, Bend, September 2014: a personal favorite but merely accepted without an award, not complaining
• "Flight" (Open Monochrome PIDM), Abi Blue, Seattle, June 2021: Accepted... I really love this photo and hope it earns awards someday too
• "Symmetry" (Woman Man Child PIDC), Shasta Wonder, Lynnwood, August 2018: Accepted. Definitely a "woman."
