Ladies and gentlemen, nons and fluids, Sensualight is entering the 21st century!
Back in July, I discovered one of the most interesting photographic exhibitions I have yet run across: NFTitties.
Yes, NFTitties. "A women-led #NFT art drop celebrating boobs in all shapes and sizes 🔵🟥🔶."
Here's how it works: artists submit artistic images of women's breasts. The curators of the exhibit choose the best, and make them available as NFTs, "Non-Fungible Tokens." (No, I'm not 100% sure I understand what NFTs are. Give me a break. I'm a Gen-Xer.) Throughout the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, people will be able to purchase these NFTs using digital currency. A portion of the proceeds will go to the artist, while the remainder will be donated to causes fighting breast cancer, promoting gender equality in Web3 (nope, not sure I know what that is either), and fighting censorship of art (definitely know what that one is, thank you Instagram).
Even though it's a bit over my head, I love the idea, the creativity, and the energy behind this project. So what the hell, I submitted two photos for consideration, and one of them was selected! Here's a reduced version of my NFT, which will be sold in all of its high definition glory for 0.1 ETH (sort of know what that means) starting October 1. This is a crop of my photo called "Locked Out," featuring Marzipanned at Frink Park in Seattle in January 2019.
So if you'd like to contribute in a creative way toward breast cancer research, strike a blow for gender equality, fight censorship, and own a token piece of great digital art that isn't fungible, check out NFTitties to find out how to buy my photo! Or somebody else's. Seriously, how can I complain when it's for such a good cause?
