2021-11-30 Photo Fest Bitola (Bitola, Macedonia) (Nude PIDC): IAAP Bronze Medal Dodho Magazine (published in Barcelona) advertised a "Nude Photography Awards" contest, which I only discovered last month, just in time for the New Year's Eve deadline. The entry fee was reasonable, so how could I not apply? I submitted three photos and got set to wait -- the text said results would come "the second week of July" (!).

But then I heard from them on January 17, so maybe their English translation was incorrect and they meant January all along.

And the results are good! Two of my three photos were selected. Here's the full text of what that supposedly means:

From Dodho Magazine we are pleased to inform you that your fantastic photography "Archive: Off Season" has been selected as a finalist in the Nude Photography Awards. As a finalist your image will be published in the book “NUDE” to be released next February. As you know in this book only the 100 best images received in the convocation are published.

Also inform you that your other image "Archive: Rest and Upheaval" has been selected as the best 25 images of the call, for this reason it will be exhibited for a year in our online gallery, which receives thousands of views monthly.

To prepare the book and gallery we need you to send us the images in high resolution (300 dpi) Along with links to your website or other links to your social networks. At any time if you have any questions, please contact me. Once again, I would like to wish you our heartfelt congratulations on your talented work.

I Off Season (Finalist, to be published) 'm not sure why the titles came through to them with "Archive:" in front of the names, except that they were sent as zipped files so maybe that had something to do with it. I corrected the names when I wrote back.

It'll be cool to see my images included in a book of high quality nude images. And I mean high quality. Seriously. Follow the link. These are some great photos. I am really jazzed to be included among them.

If the publication comes through, I presume they'll let me know about it (and probably ask me to buy a copy at $64 apiece...), and I'll pass the info on to you.
