Photo Salon Kicevo likes my nudes

I heard back from Photo Salon Kicevo in North Macedonia the other day, and am satisfied with the results. On one hand, I had a lot of photos not accepted, given that I entered 24 photos in six categories. But ten photos were accepted, which is 42%, not too shabby, and three of my four photos in the Nude category were accepted, with one of them receiving a National Diploma. And, a lot of new photos were accepted, six out of the ten, including two new nude images, one of them fresh out of the camera.

Here's the full set of results on the figurative side (which are in addition to four non-figurative photos):

  1. "Ohanapecosh 215" (Nude PIDC), Katlyn Lacoste, Ohanapecosh, March 2022 (almost exactly a year ago): National Diploma
  2. "Deep roots" (Nude PIDC), Skye, Boxcar Canyon, January 2023: a new photo!
  3. "Leo, dorsal" (Open Monochrome PIDM), Leo Velo, Eatonville, January 2020: another photo accepted for the first time
  4. "Me and my shadow" (Nude PIDC), Lillias Right, Seattle, July 2016
  5. "Wilderness mirror" (Open Monochrome PIDM), Bunny Luna, Tatoosh Range, July 2019
  6. "On the rocks" (Open Monochrome PIDM), Bunny Luna, Tatoosh Range, July 2019

2021-10-15 Kladovo Summer Circuit (Cuprija, Serbia) (Nude Mono PIDM): Accepted

A side note: it's interesting that I have yet to see a photo salon that offers a "Nude" category do so as part of a circuit (with more than one judging). It's rare enough to offer this category at all, despite how significant the human figure has been in art for millennia. Probably yet another reflection of the modern world's squeamishness about, and disconnect from, its own bodies.
