A few weeks ago, model Astrid Kallsen reached out to me to let me know she'd be visiting Seattle, and asking if I'd like to work with her. Hell yes!
There are a good number of models that I follow on social media and who I would move mountains to work with or when they ever visit my part of the world. Astrid is one of them. I mean, just look at her Instagram account and, even better, her uncensored website. She's a perfect match for my favorite theme of figure modeling in natural settings.
And so, despite the fact that this isn't the most ideal time of year for shooting out of doors, we made a tentative plan. I've wanted to shoot at the lighthouse in Seattle's Discovery Park for some time now, and it just felt like a good fit.
I've selected a few images from the photo shoot to share early edits with you, and you can see for yourself what an enormous success this was. Astrid was easy to work with and knew exactly how to pose in ways that matched the environment around her, with angles and curves that mirrored the rocks and sweep of the beach. She did not hesitate to get dirty and cold, saying that the creative energy kept her warm. (It wasn't super-cold, but definitely a winter day.)
I'll edit more of these over time, but in the meantime, there's no question that I'll be putting these early edits into circulation without delay.
