The Photographic Society of America-affiliated "Artistic Creations Circuit" in India released its results a few days ago, and my photos did very well. This salon had five judgings, and I only entered the Open Color and Open Monochrome categories, so that means 40 possibilities for acceptances, of which I received 20. Fifty percent is very good!
A few photos in particular were highly regarded, with one of them receiving a Merit Award and another one receiving two Merit Awards.
All told, three of my four photos in each category were accepted by at least one judge. And interestingly, in both cases it was the lone non-figurative photo I entered in that category.
Here are the full results:
P.S. Instagram, get off your fucking high horse and stop shadow-banning figurative artists. I tried to pull up Queen Dandelion's Instagram account to link to, and even when I searched for her actual account name, "Queen_Dandelion," it still wouldn't come up in the results list. Fortunately I know her account name and can enter the URL manually, because otherwise it would be totally invisible. Even though it's completely self-censored.
