So, the Visual Arts Circuit results are OK: 3 categories, 4 photos each, 5 judgings, 14 total acceptances out of 60. That's less than 25%, not great. But Vojvodina is worse: 4 categories, 4 photos each, 3 judgings, 6 acceptances out of 48. 12.5%. Terrible. And the Indian Super Circuit is even worse: 4 categories, 4 photos each, 3 judgings, only 5 acceptances out of 48. And three of those five were the same photo in the travel category, an image of the Golden Gate Bridge that surprisingly was accepted in all three judgings. So in figurative categories the result is more like 1 out of 24. Ouch.
I've noticed a trend lately that my photos aren't being accepted as often. I think that the reason for this may be that when I started applying to PSA salons I was submitting the best photos I'd made across more than a decade. I've submitted a lot of those photos multiple times and it doesn't really help me a whole lot to keep submitting them, so now I'm reaching deeper into my inventory. That's bound to lead to fewer acceptances and more misses.
And, unless I completely change my process, something I'll need to get used to. And try to make up for by making new high quality top tier photos!
