SEEKING MODELS for artistic figure nude modeling in urban settings.

Requires: Willingness to model nude or partially nude in an urban environment. Care will be taken to minimize contact with those who might object to encountering artistic nudity in the city, but models should be comfortable with the possibility of some level of exposure. Previous professional modeling experience is not required. Companions or chaperones are welcome. All races, ages, body types, and gender identities are welcome (and encouraged).

(Regarding the legality of artistic, non-lewd nudity in Seattle, here are four sources, from 2008, 2014, 2017 and 2018.)

Project goals: Sometimes, it's effective to convey an idea by sharing an example, and sometimes, by showing contrast. Thus, "In Concrete Canyons" is a companion project to "In Wildness," but whereas in that project my intention is to show examples of humans returning to a state of alignment with nature, in this case my goal is to startle viewers with the contrast between human skin and urban concrete and steel. Nudity reveals us at our most elemental, and it's no accident that figurative art tends to be made either in a studio, where context is absent, or in nature, where the context feels appropriate. After all, how much more "natural" can a human be, than when surrounded by nature, in a state of nature? Clothing and urban construction are layers added, and they go together as intuitively as nudity and nature. But a nude figure in the urban environment? That startles the viewer, and forces questions. Are nude humans out of place in the world they have created? And if so, what does that say -- that we, in our most natural state, are out of place in our own creation?

Locations: I have scouted locations all over the city of Seattle -- places that are visually interesting, with strong lines and textures or iconic architecture, and that would look fantastic with the addition of a fearless model. These photos are are a few examples of such places. Check out many more here, or suggest your own ideas.

Dates and times: Photos for this project can be made any time of the year. I live about two hours south of Seattle and have a day job, so any photo shoots will need to be coordinated with that. At least two weeks of advance notice are ideal. Shooting early in the day can help avoid crowds, but isn't necessarily required.

Compensation: I am happy to pay standard rates ranging from $60/hour for first-time models to $100/hour or more for traveling professional models. In most cases, about two hours of shooting are ideal. Photos created through paid modeling are owned exclusively by me, though I will always make a point of crediting you as the model. Alternatively, I'm happy to work with you in trade for photos (TFP). Under this arrangement, instead of paying for modeling, I will make all edited photos (and raw images too if you wish) available to you, with ownership fully shared, each of us with equal rights to edit, exhibit and sell the images. This is a great option if you're looking to build your portfolio, or if you'd like to earn income from the images through a Patreon or OnlyFans account. Hybrid arrangements are also an option.

CONTACT ME if you're interested in modeling for me in this project. I look forward to working with you!
