On Mount Rainier 7 (1915-2021)
This is the same rock that Roi Partridge posed on a century ago, though it has been altered by time; in at least two locations, you can see pieces of stone on the ground that have been pried off by ice over the years and now rest like puzzle pieces next to the parent rock. Trees and shrubs have also grown up around and through cracks in the rock. But the view beyond the rock is a perfect match to the original--a fact that, regrettably, could not be seen on the cloudy day when this photo was made.
