The Glasgow Gallery of Photography's mission is to advance the arts, heritage and cultural sector through exhibitions of photographic works as a means for artistic, community and personal expression.

The Glasgow Gallery of Photography is running a month long exhibition in January called Monochrome.
Black and white photography can be so impactful to the veiwer, that even in world full of colour, limiting your image to just the shades of one can tell the viewer more than if it had all the colours.

With this exhibition we want to showcase how impactful monochrome images really can be. But your monochromatic images don't have to just be black and white, sepia, green, blue, any colour would be acceptable as long its monochrome.

So whether you have a gorgeous black and white image or a thought provoking cyanotype, we want to see them.

Monochrome is an open call for photographers to submit up to 8 images of any genre of photography, that meet the theme of monochrome.

Photographers who are selected will have their work displayed for a month long exhibition.
Work will appear online in our online gallery on our website.

We want you to send your best images. We want work from both emerging and established photographers. You do not need to be a professional photographer to participate as we believe that photography is for everyone.

This is a unique opportunity to bring your work to an audience of Artist, Photographers, and Creatives as well as the public.

Both Scottish and International photographers are welcome.

All participants that are selected to take part in the exhibition will be put forward for a chance to be named Photographer of the Month.
